Special Session of the International ARC Seminar

We are pleased to announce that a special session of the International ARC Seminar series will be held on Tuesday, May 26. Professor Graeme Earl, (Dean of the Faculty of Arts and Humanities, SOAS University of London) will visit Japan and deliver a lecture on "Archaeology, AI, and Hallucinations."

The lecture will be held online, allowing attendees from both Japan and overseas to join.

This event is expected to provide a valuable opportunity to deepen international academic exchange. We will provide further information in a second announcement. We hope you will mark your calendars and plan to attend.

Archaeology, AI and Hallucinations

AI is everywhere, including increasingly across a whole swathe of heritage and archaeology research and practice.
This talk will provide an overview of the state of the art in archaeological and heritage applications of AI, and consider the implications of AI, and of its biases, for analysis, interpretation, and presentation of the past.
