Outline:

The presentation will introduce the activities, research, and organizational structure of the international project “Taiwan e-Learning and Digital Archives Program,” which was initiated under the National Digital Archives Program in 2002. The program, led by Academia Sinica, promotes the digital archiving of cultural properties (from the fields of history, literature, art, and biology) housed by the National Palace Museum, National Taiwan University, and many other public and private cultural institutions in Taiwan. Furthermore, the program actively utilizes “e-learning” techniques for the archived materials.

In this presentation, we will report on the international conference sponsored by TELDAP at Academia Sinica in March 2011 and introduce the current state of digitalization in Taiwan and its multifaceted uses.
