In Edo period, there were theatre staff called Kidban. They called spectators visiting a theatre district into a playgoing with continuous various tout before the entrance, sometimes they mixed mimicry of actors into it. Collecting a ticket from each audience was also a work of Kidoban.Kidogeisha was a member of this or at a certain times meant Kidoban itself.
