The Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn, Part 1 Review

Release Date: November 18th 2011 Starring: Christian serratos, Nikki reed, Matt bushhell Director: Bill Condon

If you're going to check this out film, I doubt this review stop you. Since vampire mania swept the planet with all the discharge of 'Twilight' back 2008, the Twilight Saga is continuing to grow from bad to worse. Breaking Dawn: Part 1 is definitely an demonstration of everything wrong with the Twilight franchise. Like myself, if you aren't the main teenage 'twihard' demographic, avoid this grim sequel without exceptions.

Team Edward! Team Jacob! It's tough to look at a movie, when you've got a cinema packed with screaming teenagers surrounding you. Because the film opened with our first peek at Edward, a vampire (Pattinson) and Jacob Black (Lautner), the screams from a minimum of 200 girls beckoned. Staying silent, I must have counted four other men from the cinema at most, undoubtedly dragged to determine the film by their 'twihard' girlfriends.

Because film progressed the screams died down, as well as the laughs grew. Where Harry Potter took advantage of telling its story between two films, watch breaking dawn almost becomes a self-parody. The film's opening might just be it's strongest point. Mortal Our bella (Stewart), who still can't catch a grin, is finally engaged and getting married on the passion for her lifetime, the sparkly vampire A vampire named edward. Wedding ceremony speech montage from friends of the wedding couple is the best moment in the film. It is a shame it's cut short for the quick cliche stare down between rivals Jacob and Edward (with Lautner delivering almost enough sarcasm to help make the scene remotely interesting).

That's where the romance story ends. There after, the flick transcends in a rather grotesque soap opera. An anticlimactic lovemaking scene between Bella and Edward (during by which every girl inside the audience, and some guys curiously erupted into cheers) brings about Bella falling pregnant. At this stage we discover out her human womb struggles to manage a foetus that's half vampire and also the race to keep her alive begins. As the Cullen clan maintain Bella alive, the film needs a stake towards the heart with many laughable conversations between CGI wolves, who swear revenge for Bella's life becoming threatened from the Cullens. It's nearly impossible to help make the plot sound right. It's pretty sure, if you aren't in control while using Twilight mythology, this film doesn't work as a standalone.

Some tips i found most disappointing was from an outsider's perspective, the script deliberately avoided whatever might have designed for compelling drama, to ensure that the film to be as light, cliched entertainment. Edward's hesitation over fathering a kid which could kill his wife, and Jacobs test of loyalty to his tribe went completely unexplored, instead the film dedicated to making Bella look as grotesque as possible while she struggles to survive her life-threatening pregnancy. From her illness, to her gore fest caesarean, I struggled to find out how this film were able to pass which has a 12A rating. Perhaps some salvation might range from film potentially putting 13-year-old girls off pregnancy. From the deafening screams of cheers from the audience, Breaking Dawn somehow manages to just do enough to have fans excited for that sequel. I want to imagine organic beef finally see an action packed vampire/werewolf showdown, in case some of the last films are to pass by, I would not get my hopes up.

Verdict: 2/5

As someone who continues to be expected to watch all 4 in the Twilight films, I could say this really is by far the worst from the bunch. In spite of some of the better acting with the series, pacing problems, awful special effects and a relatively boring script highlight until this is certainly one franchise that simply won't die. Still, I own a year to brace myself for an additional one
