【自己紹介文 Short bio】
1982年高知大学卒業。東京にて磯見輝夫師事。
19年前に東京から高知に帰りました。和紙が好きです。新しく目にした紙は使ってみたくなるし、紙漉さんを訪ねてお話しすることが楽しく喜びです。主に土佐和紙（楮）を使って水性木版画を制作しています。木版画の摺りは難しくて、長い間、紙に墨をしっかり摺ること、ベタ面を潰すことばかりに気を取られていました。最近は『水性木版画とは何だろう。墨や和紙でできることは何だろう。墨や和紙をもっと楽しみたい。」と考えるようになりました。

Graduated from Kochi University in 1982. Studied under Teruo Isomi in Tokyo.
I returned to Kochi from Tokyo 19 years ago. I love washi paper. Whenever I come across a new kind of paper, I can't resist trying it out, and visiting papermakers to talk with them brings me great joy. I mainly create water-based woodblock prints using Tosa washi (kozo).
Woodblock printing is difficult; for a long time, I was preoccupied with how to firmly apply sumi ink to paper and achieve solid flat tones. Recently, however, I have begun to wonder, "What exactly is water-based woodblock printing? What can be expressed through sumi and washi? How can I enjoy them more?"
