版を用いた平面表現　Two-Dimensional Expression Using Printing Plates

【自己紹介文 Short bio】
私は頭の中を整理したい時にドローイングをして、それらを元に木版画の作品を制作しています。ドローイングは時間が経って冷静になってから見返すと描かれた線や形は自分でも何を描いているのか分からないものばかりです。それらを木に写して、彫って、摺ることは直接紙に描くよりもはるかに時間がかかるけれど、まったく新しい視点を得ることができます。このように理解のできないものとの関わり方を模索していくことが私の制作です。

I create drawings when I want to organize my thoughts, and then use these as the basis for woodblock prints. When I revisit the drawings after some time, I often cannot understand the lines and shapes I drew. Transferring these onto wood, carving, and printing them takes much longer than drawing directly on paper, but it provides an entirely new perspective. My practice revolves around exploring ways of engaging with things that I cannot fully comprehend.

Through this workshop, I hope to gain knowledge of washi paper that I can apply to my printmaking practice. I look forward to learning and participating.
