In subjects of the thirty double-page images in Bunpō gafu, Part 1, are devoted to figure studies (jinbutsu 人物), landscapes (sansui 山水), and flower-and-bird (kachō 花鳥) pictures. There are ten of each presented in a repeating cycle of figure, landscape and flower-and-bird pictures. The images are all bold and inventive.
