Research activities: Overview and implications: Censors' seals on Post Tenpo Reform period Ukiyo-e theatre prints.

Progress and effects in your overall research plan and objectives: The funding enabled me to travel to the museum in Matsumoto and spend two days at the Japanese Ukiyo-e Museum photographing prints. The museum has an extensive collection of high quality prints by Ukiyo-e masters and I was able to photograph approximately 200 prints in the allotted time. The majority of these prints have interesting censorship seals and are relevant to my research objectives and those of the department at Ritsumeikan.
