Application Period:
December 10th (Friday), 2010 - January 7th (Friday), 2011
* Application must be sent by mail, with a postmark no later than January 7th (Friday), 2011.
* Note that Ritsumeikan University will be shut down for a winter break between December 26, 2010 and January 5, 2011, and we cannot answer your questions by e-mail, phone, or personal visits to the campus.

Screening Methods:
<1st stage screening: screening of application materials>
All applicants have to submit:
1. All required documents (see below), and
2. A thesis (Master’s thesis or a thesis equivalent will be appropriate).
 <2nd stage screening: interview>

February 8th (Tuesday), 2011

Place for Interviews:
Kinugasa Campus of Ritsumeikan University
* We will issue exam admission slips to the applicants who passed the 1st stage screening, which tell an exact place where the interviews take place.

"Shunga in its Social and Cultural Context" will be Held at SOAS.

This workshop is part of the three-year Research Project begun in May 2009 on Shunga Japanese Erotic Art, supported by a grant from the Leverhulme Trust, run jointly by SOAS, the British Museum, the International Research Center for Japanese Studies, Kyoto and Ritsumeikan University.

Dr. Kingkarn Sookhanaphibarn received the 2010 Bursary Award in Digital Humanities 2010.

We would like to congratulate Dr. Kingkarn Sookhanaphibarn, a postdoctoral fellow of the Center, on her 2010 Bursary Award in Digital Humanities 2010. These awards are to encourage new contributions to scholarship in the digital humanities and to involve new participants in the application of information technology in humanities research. She presented a paper "Visualization and Analysis of Visiting Styles in 3D Virtual Museums" at the Digital Humanities 2010, an international conference held in King’s College London on July 7-10.
